Apple Place Room #3

Cute cozy place Positive: Cozy, safe, and peaceful and no reception really gave us the opportunity to unplug. At night we got to see so many stars. Loved the outdoor kitchen area with the coffee maker (and coffee filter- as we brought our coffee but not the filter), toaster, microwave and kettle with the stove. Plenty of utensils, pots, pans, cups and mugs too. We had stocked up on food and drinks at a grocery store while we were in Fresno so glad we had stuff to warm our food and drinks. The cute apple and rabbit artwork on the walls were a nice touch. The beds were very comfortable, bathroom was spotless, and hot showers! We really had a great time here! Thank you for letting us stay here. Negative: Not nearly enough shampoo and no conditioner so we really had to get used to a small bar of soap after a long hike in the forest, but it was very minor and we were fine. We should have been more prepared anyway. Heating option outdoors would be nice if there is any way, or a way to curtain around the eating area to trap the air in. Eating and drinking outdoors in the kitchen was cold at times but it was good for our health to be more resilient in this mountain weather. The hot kettle and coffee was perfect.

For those who want a different experience - but a good one. Positive: It was a delightful night's stay. Do not expect the regular amenities. You must be willing to appreciate the delights they have. The room was spacious and comfortable (one issue with bed) ... quilts on top made us smile. No TV - is that good/bad? We had phone coverage. The bathroom was very basic - but that's what we expected. The group area was delightful - a place to cook, eat, play games, converse. The road was very near - but it was quiet. We LOVED our night here and will remember it fondly. It was a 'self-check-in' - and the process went without a hitch.

Tranquil location Positive: Quiet location, host provided a hairdryer on request Negative: The cabin was in a very tranquil location - make sure you put the full address into your satnav otherwise you will end up somewhere else! The second double bed was actually a day bed with pull out option. Quite a chintzy feel to the rooms and the sloping floor added a special touch :) Bathroom and shower are very small. No hairdryer provided in the room but the host (who you can't contact directly, you go through a third party) provided one when we asked for it. Nowhere to hang any clothes and only two hooks on the bathroom door. Other than bedside tables no surface to put anything on. Very hard pillows.

I was VERY DISAPPOINTED in the room in which I stayed. (#3) and I doubt the others were any better. Positive: There were plenty of towels Negative: Mattresses were wretched, shampoo was a teeny, tiny half used travel bottle, no conditioner. 1/3 of a roll of toilet paper by toilet and no extra to be found. Hand soap at the sink had clearly been watered down so much that it was not effective.. No air conditioning, just 2 fans. Door was not flush to door frame PLUS, unlocking and opening the door was ridiculously difficult. (The owner did warn me about this problem. Here is an idea, FIX IT!!!) I don't know if the sheets were clean as they were very rumpled. so, either they were dirty or rolled into a ball in a laundry basket before being place on the beds. RiDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED!!!
